At Values into Action, we are so grateful for the people who dedicate their time, energy, and hearts to supporting others. Today, we honor someone very special, Cathy Hinkle, a Support Partner who has made a lasting impact on all of us.
Cathy has been with Values into Action for eleven years, working alongside Jessica and her family, as well as, other people using services throughout the years. What makes Cathy’s story even more inspiring is that she had already retired from another career before joining our team. Instead of slowing down, she chose to give her time and talents to Jessica and to our organization. We have been so fortunate that she did.
From the start, Cathy has been a joy to work with. I remember when I first joined Values into Action, she was one of the first people who made me feel welcome. She always greeted me with kindness and warmth, and catching up with her in person was something I always looked forward to. Her friendly presence will be missed dearly.
Cathy’s impact goes far beyond me, though. She has touched the lives of her colleagues and team in ways that are hard to put into words. Most importantly, she has made an immeasurable difference in Jessica’s life, supporting her with love, dedication, and respect. Jessica shares this to Cathy, “Thank you for everything you did for me throughout the years.”
Here are some words shared by those who worked most closely with Cathy:
“For a year and a half, I’ve had the joy of working with someone who is always ‘peachy,’ caring and kind. She has loved her role as much as she loves her grandchildren, and it shows in the way she supports those in her care. She leaves us now for her next beautiful season, and we will miss her warmth and peachiness dearly.”
– Myra Brown, Community Support Facilitator
“Cathy, I just want to congratulate you on your retirement. Your dedication and perseverance in this field speaks volumes. I might have helped you navigate the internet, but you helped me navigate this profession. The compassion, comfort and friendship you’ve provided to the families you dedicated your time to all these years is nothing short of a blessing.”
– Marelys Rodriguez, Enhanced Support Partner
“Your retirement is so well-deserved. Your commitment to Jessica and Values Into Action over the past number of years is unmatched. We are so appreciative of all that you have done in support of Jessica & her family and the others you have supported throughout your time here at Values. You have made a profound positive impact on many.”
– Brian Petocz, Director of IHCS
