A Season of Thanks: Recognizing Our Board’s Dedication and Vision

As we near the end of 2025, we want to thank everyone who made this 20th year and the last decade a success.

Values Into Action is a nonprofit managed by an Executive Team and governed by a Board of Directors.

The Directors, Associate Directors, and Community Support Facilitators handle daily operations, while Board Members focus on our mission. They ask: Are we providing the right services to help people live their best lives? They also look at financial integrity and ask: Are we using public funds responsibly and following all the rules?

The Board of Directors has six community members, each offering unique skills. This diverse group reviews the organization’s work and the Executive Director’s role, ensuring good governance and compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

These six individuals have guided the organization through uncertain times. They support the workforce and challenge the Executive Team to think critically about decisions. They listen, advise, and celebrate successes.

The Board Members are:

Elizabeth ‘Beth’ Naughton Beck, our outgoing Board Chair, served for several years, including during the Covid pandemic. Her background as an attorney and experience in the Medicaid system were crucial during the public health crisis and beyond, as she has guided our planning for sustainability.

Cecile Charlton, our outgoing Secretary/Treasurer, has been with us since 2015. She has offered sound advice and advocated for the organization in many influential spaces, like the Delaware County Transportation Management Association and the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce.

We appreciate Beth and Cecile’s dedication to Values Into Action.

While it will be tough to replace them, our current Board Members are committed professionals focused on community betterment:

Alex Charlton is a former PA State Representative and the past Executive Director of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. Alex currently serves as the Senior Manager of State Government Affairs at Constellation. In addition to his professional expertise and experience, as a father of a young woman with disabilities, Alex offers invaluable insight as he and his wife Kira advocate for inclusion in schools and communities.

Kathleen Rode is a communications expert and has worked in leadership roles throughout her career. Currently, Kathleen is the Director of Events and Experiences at Crumdale Specialty. She is also an entrepreneur and former business owner, bringing important and relevant guidance to the organization based on her experiences.

Dennis Morris co-owns Morris Brothers Investment, focusing on small business acquisitions and civic projects in Media and Delaware County. He invests in his community, believing in its potential. Dennis offers his business acumen and knowledge that informs effective decision making for the organization.

Maitlin Combs is a Senior Associate on PwC’s Workforce Solutions team. With experience in change programs, Maitlin, a former intern, offers unique contributions  from various experiences and perspectives.

During this Thanksgiving season, let’s recognize this incredible group of people for their time, expertise, and contributions to Values Into Action.
